Aidan has been going to preschool for a month now. He is definitely enjoying it. Getting out of bed before 8:00 is still a little rough on him, but luckily he's excited enough about school that he doesn't fight me too much.
We do have a hard time getting him to tell us about his day and what he's learned. The one thing that he couldn't stop talking about was when they got to write/draw in shaving cream. Other than that, he hasn't had much to say! (It's kind of funny really because I can remember my dad asking me what I learned at school and always replying with "Nothing.") We did get a classroom newsletter last week, so that gave us an idea of what they have been going over.
They have only talked about a few letters (a, m, and c) so far, but I think that whatever they do in class has really gotten Aidan more interested in writing/spelling. He knows all of his letters and has a few words that he has known how to spell for a while, but lately it's an every day thing to write out those words and ask us how to spell new ones. He is also doing a better job of remembering the new ones (before we just had to tell him how to spell them every time). The words he can write on his own are: Mom, Dad, Aidan, Cale, Beckett, Nick, Kassie, and boots. He has also started writing in lowercase letters more often.

He is such a smart little guy! I bet he is the smartest one in his class!
Awesome! I agree ... he is probably the smartest one in the class. Here's a tip that one of my friends passed along to me. She uses it when her girls won't talk about their day. She starts the conversation by asking them what they DIDN'T like about school that day. She says it gets them talking every time.
Sounds like he is doing great!!
